Binary 'deathstar' has Earth in its sights???

The article states the if a supernova exploded, the gamma rays could affect an area up to 6,500 light years away. The article did NOT state that one has exploded. The article also clearly states that the binary stars in question are 8,000 light years away from Earth. Even if this particular star did supernova, it is too distant for Earth to receive any effects from gamma rays.
