What kind of Music where you brought around & do you think that has influenced your taste now?

I was brought up around Blur, Tracy Chapman, Kate Bush, Red hot chili peppers... now i like rock and indie i still love kate bush and similar artists. I believe that my mothers choice in music has based my taste around it... would you link the music that was played in your upbringing to the music you now listern to?
