Do you think the word "desperation" is written all over one's face when looking for a relationship?

Opinions, please! And, no, it's not me. I keep telling my girlfriend and others that are looking to be right with yourself first, in other words, get your life in order. Then the attraction from someone good will come. It won't look like desperation, you know like getting drunk, etc., acting out, looking sad, standing in the corner. Yeah, you may get someone, but not anyting lasting. I tell you, one can smell it! And she knows what I'm saying is true because I had good luck like that twice. True love. She doesn't agree, she says it shouldn't matter, that if someone likes you, they just do and it could last forever. Now, she has me questioning myself and so I'll put to the YA test!
