Why would God give us cynical minds yet expect us to have blind faith?

I have strugged with my religious beliefs. Intellectual reason tends to disagree with most religious beliefs. And as much as I'd love there to be a heaven, and a creator, I cant help but think.. maybe we're just here because we're here and there's no higher power. But, really I don't know. I cannot believe in something that I can't believe, as much as I want to. I can be a good person and live a happy life because that's what I know, but beyond that I am unsure. And Im not willing to have a religion out of fear either. This is a weird question but hopefully I can get some insightful answers?
