How do Iraqis survive the summer heat when the Europeans couldn't in 2003?

yeah, i don't get it either. i live in rome, and yes it's hot here and humid, but i just spent a month in north africa and survived. i don't have any heart problems, but when it's too hot, i stay inside and shower often...what else can you do?
