How can i get into the military with a DUI that was never paid off?

I am a college student in florida and due to the economy my parents cant really help me anymore. I really want to join the military to learn discipline, leadership, as well as be able to pay the rest of my way through school. Problem is, I messed up and got a DUI a few years back that i was never able to pay for, therefore i violated my probation. I really don't know what to do, I have no car, no money, and no way to get to a job to buy a car to get a job to pay for the darn DUI. I am really stuck in a catch 22 and i really need to join the military. How can I get in to the services with this on my record, is there a waiver available? I have no other criminal history other than this stupid DUI and a probation violation for not paying the fines. I need some insight from someone that knows about this stuff. I have a long line of family members that have been in the service, hell, my dad is a full bird colonel at the pentagon but i can't talk to him about this as he will absolutely flip out. Please if anyone out there can help I would be greatly indebted to you. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
